The Snow Angels. By Jo-Ann Hughes

The snow angels came and the children they laughed,

for the earth was covered in white.

A gift for a time, it was pure and so clean,

bringing cheer, as darkness came bright.

Standing and watching were three aged men,

silenced by wonder and awe.

In stillness, they’d gladness and joy in their hearts

as o’er them the angels they saw

hearts melting misery from cold all around,

laughter warm as the snow angels sang,

‘all is well, all is well, all is well in the world,

peace on earth and goodwill toward man’.

This has the feel of something I’ve known all my life. It’s such a strong affirmation.
