Prayer Warrior by Jo-Ann Hughes
She dances, holding hand with grace.
Her arms arch and curve, a wave of air,
a shield of strength.
Toes tip floors, lightly flowing,
as knees rise and bend, bow-like,
darting invisible arrows into dark air.
She stands, stretched, wrapping herself in an offering.
Her right hand, shining steel,
a sharp mirror reflecting light,
slicing through shadows,
imagined and real.
She turns, shaping curves of colour,
invisible and visible.
She twirls in circles and
cuts through worlds and time,
revealing true shape:
Power! Love! Control!
A self silhouetted by the hand she holds.
